Database RUN BRITISH VINTAGE RADIO DATABASE
You need a Pentium PC or better with at least 64MB of RAM to run the database. It works best with Internet Explorer 4 or better, but will run on Netscape browsers too (at a push).
A line of 14# symbols will display during loading in the progress screen to show you how far loading has progressed. Later you have the option to run it in Off-line Mode - see the help screen which will be shown once you enter the database.
Presently the entire database downloads to your own web browser and your computer then has the job of performing all subsequent queries.   The problem is that the "footprint" of the system, that is the amount of data which must be downloaded before you can start using it is now about 1Megabyte - and this situation will get worse as new sets are added. To combat this problem, I intend to perform a major rewrite of this database system in the next few months to allow it to start performing queries very much faster than is presently possible.   Until then, please be patient - I'm doing all I can!

SEARCH ENGINE LINKS:
These search engines are on the web and although they concentrate on the valves (also known as "tubes") rather than exploring the relationship between device and radio set, these are very useful references to examine.   They also execute searches on the web server rather than in your browser so may give faster results on slower machines especially if your machine struggles to run mine.
